Ok, number one: EXPEDIA stinks. They are so on my crap list! They lost our LA hotel reservation. Yay for Sheratons having spare rooms by LAX.

Number two: New York is humid. I did not expect this. I feel like I am in a cooler weathered Texarkana, TX.

Number three: Totally saw this dude rockin' the detergent bucket and trash can drums in the subway. So awesome. His picture is in NY Day 2.

Number four: Dr. Sprenkle is awesome for canceling the Blackboard assignment.

Number five: How much does this internet access cost? I don't know!

Number five: Chock full o'nuts coffee is delicious

Ok, that is good for now. More later. <3

I bet people are sick of hearing about it but that is where I am going to be spending my fall break from Whitworth. Mom and I want to go see "Wicked" on Broadway. And we might ride the ferry on the Hudson River. Touristy? Yes indeedy. Besides, I am not cool enough to pull of "New Yorker" anyway.

And we had our first group meeting today and I am scared. I don't know anyone. I have just had classes with three of the 29 that are going. We are staying in a hostel, not a hotel. But what is funny is that I am most afraid of the social situation (who I will room with, talk to, etc) than the actual "going across the pond". I am scared but excited. I have never done this before and that in its self is revolutionary.

What can we do
but keep on breathing in and out,

modest and willing, and in our places?
Listen, listen ...

-Mary Oliver, Stars in West Wind

"I am very modest and willing"...Is that an oxymoron to anyone else?
Perhaps it is the good girl way of saying "I'll do it with you".

That what "I am a strong, independent submissive woman of the 90's" means too right?
