We may sing beforehand, even in our winter storm, in the expectation of a summer sun at the turn of the year...Let us then be glad and rejoice in the salvation of our Lord...

Discontinue

The mental states of others make

For interesting newsroom fodder

But for the spouses

And children confusion

Can only ensue.

The brain knows love

It knows reason

It just can't

Right now

That pulsing muscle is screaming

For you to put the match down

Back away

And take your pills.

Tomorrow is always full

Of promise

Or disaster

For the electrical currents

Of life and

For my heart.

From Kate Nash's MySpace Blog:

"shouldn't we just stick to what we do best girls and smell nice? sell ourselves short? and shut the fuck up? it's blatant sexism. it's another thing a girl just simply isn't allowed to do. along with eating, getting old, sweating, swearing, getting drunk, fucking up and going to rehab. and i know if i start talking about this i'm a 'dyke' and 'a man hater' and i'll be 'knocked off that pedalstool missy' but these kind of attitudes should be thought of as prehistoric. if you must attack at least attack fairly, don't be so petty. point is i hate arrogant sexist patronising twats, i'm really more into equality."

That is like the best thing ever. Made my day :)

FOUR LIGHT BIRDS

Four light birds,

dash on

seven red lights

falling–

down the well of

forty waiting seeds.

Clacking and glazing

eyes search for

two blankets of

seven threads that

fold together like

the whites of

eggs.

p.s. I wrote this. Lucas had to ask.

Agricultural chemist, George Washington Carver discovered three
hundred uses for peanuts and hundreds more uses for soybeans,
pecans and sweet potatoes. He started popularizing uses for
peanut products including peanut butter, paper, ink, and oils
beginning in 1880. However, Carver did not patent peanut butter
as he believed food products were all gifts from God. It was
Carver who made peanuts a significant crop in the American
South in the early 1900's.
